Streamlining Product Documentation with 3DVIA Composer

Have you experienced any of the following?
  • Machine or product delay due to documents not being ready on time?
  • Design of new machining or products were delayed because design engineers were busy writing documentation?
  • You shipped a machine or product but your customer is holding or has held payment until the final documentation was delivered?
  • You have paid travel costs for technical field repair?
  • Manufacturing was delayed because assembly manuals were not clear cut?
For many years, manufacturers simply had to accept more time delays and greater costs as they developed product documentation in multiple languages to support growing global markets. But today, product developers are gaining competitive advantage, saving time, and cutting costs with a new class of integrated software tools. With 3D authoring software like 3DVIA Composer, your company can use 3D CAD data to automate the product documentation process—without modifying product designs.

Five Ways PDM can help you Succeed - Free White Paper

How often do you find yourself spending valuable time searching for a model or file?
Have you ever had to recreate a model because you could not find the original?
Have you ever spent time creating a design only to discover later that one of your colleagues had previously modeled a similar design that would have met your needs?

If you are not using a product data management (PDM) system, chances are you can relate to these scenarios.

This white paper examines the five key benefits of design reuse and explores how SolidWorks Enterprise PDM software can help you turn design reuse into a winning strategy.

3DConnexion Announces Intelligent 3D Navigation

3Dconnexion has announced new 3D mouse capabilities for SolidWorks, bringing increased navigation intelligence to the design process. With this new feature, 3Dconnexion 3D mice can now automatically follow a designer’s point of interest and continuously determine the optimal center of rotation, enabling an easier and more intuitive exploration of the largest models and the smallest details. In addition, the center of rotation can now be seen at all times via an icon, further enhancing the navigation experience.
