Tips for Engineers – Free Screencast Series

One of the most popular, yet under-utilized, engineering tools is Microsoft® Office Excel, the ubiquitous spreadsheet software. Excel is far more robust than most people think. Are you missing a chance to improve you design productivity?

Join us for a free screencast that will cover 10 tips for transforming Excel from a basic spreadsheet program to a powerful engineering application. During the presentation you will learn how to input data more efficiently, build easy-to-use interfaces, utilize powerful functions for advanced calculations, and optimize how the data is displayed. Excel can accelerate calculations as well as control all aspects of a SolidWorks model.

Considering 3D CAD, but not sure if your workstation is up to speed?

Here are some quick tips to help identify your 3D CAD hardware requirements:
  • The greater the complexity of your modeling tasks, the greater your computational requirements become
  • System scalability and reliability help you manage 2D legacy data effectively
  • For maximum flexibility, choose a 3D CAD workstation that supports 64-bit applications, operating systems, and memory scalability

3DVision Technologies launches new Engineering Simulation Services

With the ever increasing amount of digital prototyping that is becoming a core product development function across almost all manufacturing industries, it has never been more critical for simulation results to be readily available by the entire organization in order to provide business impact starting early in conceptual design and continuing throughout the product development lifecycle.

3DVision Technologies is proud to offer a complete range of engineering simulation services such as FEA (Finite Element Analysis), Motion (Kinematics and Dynamics), and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to help you achieve your design validation goals. The entire gamut of capabilities goes all the way from simple stress analysis to more complex thermal, vibration, fatigue, linear/non-linear structural testing, dynamics and fluid flow simulation. The results of the analysis can then be utilized to drive important design changes that can save tens of thousands of dollars in the design process, cut short product development time, and help avoid field failures.

The goal of the webinar (details listed below) is to address this new offering from 3DVision Technologies. Key topics that will be covered include:

WHY Why is 3DVision launching a Simulation Services Offering?
WHAT What are the core specialties offered by this division?
What is to be expected in terms of services?
WHO Who would want to utilize these services?
Who would be involved in the services?
WHEN When can I start utilizing the services offered?
HOW How can I leverage these services for better product development?
How can I reach out to access these services?

Visualizing the Path to Innovation in Design with SolidWorks

By standardizing on the SolidWorks 3D design platform, leading contact lens designers and one of the most respected healthcare brands in the world, Bausch & Lomb, have positioned themselves to achieve innovative breakthroughs in lens performance and wearer comfort.

From Doodle to Prototype

With his high school math teacher’s voice in the background, co-founder Tyler Tiberius spent class time doodling in his notebook rather than paying attention to the difference between 'sine' and 'cosine.'

"I had no idea one of my doodles would evolve into an innovative paintball gun design and the launch of Tiberius Arms," Tyler says.

The purchase of a uPrint 3D Printer allowed them to see prototypes from conceptual design to physical model in durable ABS plastic before committing to the high cost of producing the product in metal.

The result? Better looking, better working parts and improved product appeal.
